The Philadelphia Church

Starting a Fellowship

In the 1st-Century CE, there were no models for starting fellowships. Models had to be developed with Judaism serving as the baseline from which deviation could be observed … when the circumcision that matters is no longer of the flesh but of the heart of the disciple, then the uncircumcision of Gentile converts and of women does not matter. All that matters is evidence of the sort of love Christ Jesus had for His disciples. Therefore, the practices of the Philadelphia Church should always reflect love for God, brother, and neighbor. And without New Testament models for how things are to be done other than things are to be done in an ordered manner, the following aspects of congressional worship are starting points that individual fellowships can use as models.
